PDO thread

PDO (polydioxanone) threads are fine, dissolvable surgical sutures placed under the skin to lift mildly sagging tissue and stimulate the skin's own collagen production. They are most often used along the jawline, cheeks, brows and neck. The threads themselves dissolve safely within about six months, but the collagen framework they trigger continues to firm the area, with results typically lasting 12–18 months. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and takes 30–60 minutes; mild soreness, swelling or a pulling sensation is normal for the first days. Thread lifting suits patients with early, mild laxity who are not ready for — or do not need — surgical lifting. It can be combined with fillers or skin boosters for a fuller rejuvenation plan agreed at consultation.
