Fat grafting

Fat grafting (lipofilling) restores volume using your own tissue. Fat is gently harvested by liposuction from an area with excess — typically the abdomen or thighs — purified, and re-injected where fullness is wanted: sunken cheeks, deep folds, the under-eye area, hands, or the body. The result feels and behaves like the natural tissue it is, and because a portion of the transferred fat establishes a permanent blood supply, the volume that remains after the first three months is long-lasting. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia depending on the extent, and combines the slimming effect of liposuction at the donor site with natural augmentation at the recipient site. Swelling settles over two to three weeks; final volume is judged at three months, when a touch-up can be planned if needed.
